We thank you the people of Massachusetts. - Asking the questions… Demanding the answers… - The Voice
Thank you Massachusetts, you were the shot heard around the world, the light at what seemed to be a never ending tunnel and I want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you from the mother working two jobs to make ends meet only to see more and more of her money going to pay taxes, thank you from the husband who would love to buy a new home for his wife but simply cannot see getting a loan until he knows his job is safe. Thank from the clerk at the insurance company who has for months cringed every time he watched the news wondering when his company would be put out of business because they could not compete with government run healthcare, thank you from the people the elite democrats could care less about, the hard working American taxpayers, we owe you a great debt, you have led the way and we thank you.
The election last night was not just about two candidates fighting it out, it was not just about a senate seat it was about a message, a message that reverberated loud and clear across this great country of ours. It was a message of not only can we take back seats in Washington we can take them in a traditionally democrat stronghold where tradition and legacy have taken hold. It was a message of WE ARE COMING AFTER YOU!!! Make no mistake about it they have gotten the message and they see the writing on the wall, now it is up to the rest of America to do the same. The pundits and politicians have come up with any number of excuses for this election, they know the real reason behind it but they will never say it.
They should have learned from the McCain debacle that you do not insult your constituents and walk away from it, they refused to acknowledge that there were angry democrats at the town hall meetings, they called people exercising their right to freedom of speech Nazi’s, hoods and bandits and sent out thugs to rough them up and really expected there would be no repercussions, they were wrong. The repercussions were loud and clear as we got closer to the elections and deafening as Scott Brown gave his acceptance speech. I have heard from many over the past year that the American people are just not engaged enough, that they are just to busy with their life to keep up with what is going on, I heard after the town halls’ I heard it after 2.5 million people stood in Washington I heard it after every national Tea party but on January 19, 2010 they were all proven wrong.
I am a great believer in the American people, they may seem aloof at times but they are watching and they are planning, if we can do this my friends we can do anything, we can take back Washington, we can turn our economy around despite of the Obama administration, we can walk a little taller, speak a little louder, we can go back to what America really is, the greatest place on earth, and we can do it together. It took great strength and determination to buck tradition, to go against the grain and stand up for your country but you did it and we thank you the people of Massachusetts.
